Garage door openers are an important accessory for opening your garage door from a distance. Depending on the make and model of your opener, it can be tricky to acquire and program a new remote or wall panel to work seamlessly with your system.

It’s also important to note that many of today’s garage door openers support remote operation and monitoring via smartphone, such as LiftMaster’s MyQ or Genie’s Aladdin Connect. These may require external software configurations and/or subscriptions, but are a good option to look at if you have a model that supports it. In addition to allowing you to open the door from your smartphone anywhere you have a data connection, you can also see if the door is open or closed, and even check a video feed if you’re using the LiftMaster 85503.
